A great challenge. Seeing as you seek to be comprehensive, could I suggest that you need to add "British Indian Ocean Territories" (BIOT should be allowed), which is basically the Chagos Archipelago? Also the Italian islands of Lampedusa, Linosa and Pantellaria, which I believe come under the same division, though I'm not sure what it's called.
Congratulations on finishing the last quiz of the First-Level Subdivisions by Continent series IAB. Amazing work, quizzes like these are among my favorites.
Another amazing quiz. My only critique would be that the series seems to have some inconsistencies with the continent. Spanish territories in Africa are on this quiz, not the European one, but Egyptian Governorates in Asia appear on this quiz, not the Asian one (the Sinais). Otherwise, terrific effort. I'm getting steadily worse results (300+ for Asia, 150 or so for Europe and only about 90 on this one), but that's down to me.
Great quiz, amazing effort! I would suggest that some type-ins could be more lenient, e.g. giving all of the related regions when typing in the following: Bujumbura, Nouakchott, Darfur, Sinai. Also Kongo Central when typing in "Central". Thanks!
It's what's known here in Spain as "plazas de soberanía" that are not the first level subdivisions of Spain, who are the autonomous communities and autonomous cities.
Each country divides its territory into regional sub-units (called regions, provinces, departments, or other variants, depending on the country) for better governance. These units are then divided into even smaller sub-units, for better local governance, etc. The units of the first dividing are called first-level subdivisions of a country, those of the second are called second-level subdivisions of a country, and so on.
This quiz is about naming the first-level subdivisions of all the countries in Africa.
Absolutely amazing quiz--must have taken a lot of time and effort! Also, incredibly challenging. I did way better on the Asia one (still haven't done Europe or North America, but as an American I can imagine I'd do decent on the latter). Honestly, 80% of my answers were probably either capitals or cardinal directions (which worked for a surprisingly large number of subdivisions!). And some of these countries (looking at you Uganda) are a complete eyesore.
Great effort and very interesting quiz. I got just one star, of course, and that was by guessing "north" "south" etcetera, and the main cities I know. Judging by the statistics, most people do exactly the same, as often happens with this big-challenge games.
My only complaint, isn't even with this quiz directly per se, but in the other individual 'first level subdivisions' quizzes some of the names don't match this one.... and there aren't currently ones for Cabo Verde or Namibia!
As for the subdivision names, many of the individual first-level subdivision quizzes aren't made by the author of this quiz, IAB, and the names are different as she likely used different names/sources for this quiz than the authors of the individual quizzes.
Type ins are odd. "Red" is enough to get Red Sea for Sudan, but it doesn't get the one in Egypt. So after you type "Red" and the Sudanese one filling in, you then have to type "Red Sea" -- kept missing the Egyptian one because I thought I had it after "Red" triggered the auto fill. Should be the same for both.
Somalia does have more divisions, but the *first-level* divisions are the 6 states that are included in this quiz. The second-level divisions are the (confusingly named) 18 administrative regions, and the third-level divisions are called districts, which are even more numerous.
Many people have pointed out the insanity of Uganda's subdivisions. But it's interesting for me, since this may be my most successful continent subdivision quiz in terms of what proportion I've visited! When I visited Uganda we drove around most of the time and we passed through lots of these divisions and their cities. I recognised lots such as Masaka, Hoima, Masindi, and Mbarara, so it was interesting to me even if it was overwhelming.
This quiz is about naming the first-level subdivisions of all the countries in Africa.

EDIT: Or maybe it's the Swahili name, as in the local Wikipedia is written with 'B'. Most references in Google have Kikuube anyways.
The details/presentation are just amazing, really!
I found a few corrections in Uganda after the latest update:
Lyantonde is labeled as Nakaseke
Nakaseke is labeled as Mityana
Mityana is labeled as Lyantonde
Botswana: Sowa highlights both Sowa and Orapa, and typing Orapa does not show up on the map
Eritrea: Anseba, Central Region, Northern Red Sea, and the Southern regions are in the wrong places
Tunisia: Ariana does not appear on the map
I may be wrong but I thought the Regions are the 2nd Level, and the Districts are the 1st Level?
