Good quiz - but quite a challenge. One nitpick: for the famous UK explorer, Livingstone is a better answer than Stanley - he not only achieved more, he was simply a nicer guy. Incidentally, there would be plenty of others that could be answers to this category: Speke, Parry, Burton, Ross (two of them), Sturt, Park and Rae to mention just the most famous.
Thanks for the suggestion. I had thought about Marie Curie but I had seen that a good amount of her work extended into the 20th century and I tried to focus on 19th century.
Chopin however is a beautiful addition and I have edited the quiz to include him!
As we can see from stats, some "important" people were picked 0 times, so why don't you delete them? And yeah, some of them are really unnecessary, eg prince of Indonesia or Greek diplomat. You should add more leaders of countries because they make a most impact and therefore - are the most important people.
I tried to include people who were important to different parts of the world. It's a shame that people only know the standard European storyline for this century, but that is not doing the 19th century justice
1. Maria Skłodowska-Curie, a great scientist that discovered two new elements and was the first person to describe what radiation is;
2. Fryderyk Chopin, an absolutely astonishing pianist.
I obviously won't take offense if you don't add them.... would be cool if you did tho ;)
