Might be very very wrong, but I know Bhutan doesn't recognise a lot of countries so maybe this is why it's on here. I cannot remember if they recognise the USA or not.

They mostly just don't bother establishing diplomatic relationships
+4
Level 85
Feb 18, 2025
Not so much. It's not that they "don't bother," but rather they have a strict policy of neutrality in global affairs, which they interpret as (among other things) not recognizing any significant world power because it could influence that neutrality.

Why is 'has strong ties with ' repeated in this way, first with 2 possibilities, then 1, and 1, etc? Sorry I just found that confusing! Nice quiz idea though

The first column is "Frequency," meaning the number of times that country appears on the page in total. For the ones that appear multiple times, the "Context" is just one example.

I was thinking the same thing only with Ireland and Morocco.

I know there’s a lot of Irish-Americans. (I know demonyms arnt counted but still.) and Morocco was the first country to recognise the US. (Maybe under a different name?)So much missed.

This was fun, and I learned a lot! Thank you for making it. I have spent the last 20 minutes, though, trying to decide if the question about El Salvador might be backwards. I read it as "the US is the fifth most common source of immigrants to this country" instead of "people of this country are the fifth largest group of immigrants in the U.S." Anyone else read it that way?

Yeah Wikipedia is known as the democracy of facts. Anyone can alter it. I just read this typical Wikipedia gem a few minutes ago.

"[Manila] ranks as the 9th most populous metropolitan area in Asia and the 6th most populous urban area in the world."

I think the statement "The September 11 attacks led to military interventions in Iraq" is wrong. It is probably true for Afghanistan, but an invasion of Iraq had been planned by several senior figures in the Bush administration long before the 9/11 attacks, which were effectively used as a pretext to carry out those plans. There has never been any link between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaida, they probably hated each other as much as the US.
