Esperanto was created by L. L. Zamenhof, who was born in Poland in 1859. Eliezer Ben-Yehuda was born in Russia in 1858. I don't think there is any relation between them.

The answer to the question was not Eliezer Ben Yehuda, it was his son, Ben Zion.
