I mention this just for fun, but the leaders of Key West declared themselves independent once also. They called it the Conch Republic.

What is your source for Oregon having been independent from 1844 to 1849? From what I can read, the Oregon Country was jointly administered by the US and UK from 1818 to 1846, after which the current national border was established.

Also, the U.S. portion of Oregon Country included all of what is now Washington and Idaho and parts of Montana and Wyoming, in addition to Oregon. Why not mention them also?

I hadn't checked for sources beyond the Wikipedia article, but it seems to show that the "Provisional Government of Oregon" existed from 1841-1849 but is only listed as "part of the United States" from 1846-1849, meaning it was its own thing until getting drafted. There's also a quote saying the territory was "intended from the start as an interim entity, until "whenever [the United States] extends her jurisdiction over the Territory", implying that it wasn't part of the United States's territory at the time.

As for including other states... idk lol. I guess I could add an amendment that says "land area covered several other states" but then I'd have to do it for Texas too
