I didn't know the names in some that I've read, others I knew though I've never read them (or seen the movie).

I bet it wasn't just me who wanted to put Doctor in front of Frankenstein! Missed some that were on the tip of my tongue, very frustrating.

Yup, I put doctor first before I tried Victor. Also tried Harvey for Dent.....didn't get the right answer on that one.

I thought of that too. I really can't believe I spaced on The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.

Dante is something of an anomaly here since he was a real person who wrote The Divine Comedy whilst the rest are wholly fictional. In fairness, however, he was the main character in the trilogy.

I'd say it's fair to separate the "fictional" Dante of the poem from the "real" Dante who wrote it. Though that's a fair point.

Got "The Great" in my head and couldn't think of Gatsby's first name.

Dante is not a 'character from a book'!! He was the author of The Divine Comedy!

As well as the primary character. Remember, it is a fictional story where Dante is guided through Hell by the poet Virgil. Although not a fictional character, he is still a literary character all the same.

Putting Twilight together with Anna Karenina etc in a lit category is an... interesting... juxtaposition :P

I assumed it had to be a spelling error and the question required the answer Charles, as in Charles Swann in Marcel Proust's work. Sadly, I was wrong.

In respect of the Truman Capote work, by all means accept the type-in Holly, but to not allow her full name is simply not right. Her full name is Holiday, and she goes by the name of Holly.

While you are right with respect to Ms. Golightly, the reason that I just accept Holly is the same reason that if I asked who the guitar player was for Guns N Roses was, I wouldn't think to accept Saul Hudson. Everyone knows her as Holly, so get over yourself and just type Holly.

But you did accept Bertram for Wooster. Granted it is the name that he sometimes uses to refer to himself.

"Katie Scarlett O'Hara" is her actual name, so Katie would be more in line with the quiz description.
