Thanks! Yeah, it's a great film. I never caught it back in the day - it was famously underpromoted - but finally saw it fairly recently after having it recommended over the years. Glad I did, and happy to hear you appreciate the inclusion :)
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert was absolutely fantastic, I got tickets in a package deal, had no idea what it even was when I went to the theatre, but boy was I floored at how great a time I had.
I suppose having the ship partially sink, break in half and the remaining section sink separately would be a bit difficult. Also, dropping baby Simba onto Ghostfaces knife - not cool!
That’s a great quiz, although the image for the least guessed one is very obscure. That’s a great film, but not a great choice of image. Although maybe you want a tricky one, so…..
So as a reward for completing the quiz, we get to see a T-rex dry heave, the Titanic sink and a lion cub get impaled on a blade. As good a way to celebrate as any I guess.
I loved all of this except the Matrix silhouette, which was horrible. Never, ever would have gotten it. You'd do better putting in a silhouette of those squid robot things. Or Keanu bending back while a bullet whizzes by. But that shape is definitely Spiderman, right down to the middle and ring fingers tapping the palm while the others are extended.
It's definitely not :) Spiderman doesn't wear a jacket and isn't in a 90s film. I tried more than one of Neo, they didn't come out well. Tested this one on my brother and he got it straight away so figured it was ok. 30% of people get it, which is fine. There are lots of easy ones. If it was 10% or lower I'd look at changing it. Also it's famously the first use of bullet time in film which was era-defining.
I am surprised more didn't get The Matrix clue. Although I do see how it could easily be mistaken for Spiderman even though there were no Spiderman movies released in the 90s. I am not surprised to see Reservoir Dogs down near the bottom. I tried to watch that movie and gave up after about 30 minutes. I honestly don't remember hearing much about it during the 90s either. Pulp Fiction was the one movie of his that most people talked about back then.
I tried bluesbrothers first, then ghostbustsers :D but after that reservoir dogs, but as a guess. Not sure I have seen it, don't think I did, or a few minutes. I did hear about it. I think here the hype about pulp fiction was much later.
and I don't say that because the 90s are my decade ;)
Thank you for choosing the 3rd movie, one of the best animated movies ever in my opinion.
And thank you for the creative work you prodive us with!
Thanks
Nice quiz though :)
*Watch the screen for a while after the quiz is over. Totally worth it.
But I never heared of The Iron Giant. I don't think that it is famous in my country.
