The term 'semicolon' is quite regularly used to refer to groupings of parts of the colon; the 'right semicolon' refers to the colon from the cecum to the end of the transverse colon, while the 'left semicolon' includes the splenic flexure, descending, and sigmoid colon. While it would probably be better referred to as a 'hemicolon,' the term stands as it is.
