#1: Queen Bees and Wannabes sure makes it sound like a typical teen novel.

#2: I’ve shown O! Brother, Where art Thou to students as a film study to analyze how closely it follows the source material. It’s a very, very loose adaptation.

#3: Full Metal Jacket doesn’t work.

Thanks, have fixed the type-in. Apparently I can't spell full.

I thought the same about Queen Bees. Yep, some of these are very loose adaptations. Especially of classic works.

Full Metal Jacket is another of the several movies here that are renamed after the name of the original story.

On number 2, finally someone who agrees with me. I've read so many times how it's this oh so smart adaptation of the Odyssey. It hardly qualifies as an adaptation, just takes a few things and adapts them in a very superficial way.

Funny thing, Queen Bees and Wannabes actually isn't a teen novel. It's a non-fiction book about bullying and the formation of cliques among teenage girls, and how parents can help. The movie was... a loose adaptation.

I find it's easier for me to not look at the titles, but to just look at the posters themselves. But I'm also a complete movie buff, so that helps too!

The second movie was originally going to be called "Rapunzel." Disney changed the name because they worried a movie with a princess' name as the title would have trouble appealing to a broad audience.

In several countries, it was actually distributed as "Rapunzel" (or the local translation of the name).
