From the wiki page - There are two versions of the song. The album version ("Flash's Theme") is in fact the start to the film, with all the dialogue from the first scene. The single version contains dialogue cut from various parts of the film, most memorably, Brian Blessed's character exclaiming "Gordon's alive?!" This version was also included on the Greatest Hits compilation from 1981.
That one was great, but I think an even trickier one is the made up song titled with the last verse of "Gimme the Prize." Not gonna spoil the answer... That one almost fooled me!
or who just have the greatest hits album... they're all on there, with maybe the exception of "keep yourself alive", which is hardly a deep cut either.
There are some others not on the greatest hits (Flash, Who Wants to Live Forever, and The Show Must Go On), but your point stands. That's how I got 17/20.
I understand that most people's knowledge will be limited to the more famous songs, such as the greatest hits. But as someone who has listened to Queen since middle school and owns every album they ever produced I am surprised that Keep Yourself Alive is the least guessed. Probably one of the most powerful guitar intros from songs of that era. And clever fast lyrics too (but that's nothing unusual with Freddie's songwriting). Do yourself a favor and look it up if you don't know it, and it will energize you for hours!
Who else got tripped up on "There Can Be Only One" guessing that it was the name of the theme song that Queen did for the Highlander movie/show? (Actual song is Princes of the Universe.)
Who Wants to Live Forever was from Highlander also, so I assumed that two songs from the movie wouldn't be included so I didn't pick it. But i did pick wrong for the last one. Never heard of Flash.
Surprised that no song was guessed by more than 90% and "The Show Must Go On" even by less than 60%, although that was one of their last and biggest hits.
Just a detail: 'You're My Best Friend' is twice in here.
An advanced version might be fun too with less known songs!
