The only solution I find is that overtired is a genius. Brillant idea, as always (but more again this time, in my opinion). Congratulations, and nominated, sure!
Not every person's brain is image-focused. My, for example, is sound-focused. I never benefit from these "memory techniques" that tell you to imagine some pictures instead of words. Hell, I often do the opposite and try to remember picutres as words because I can't remember many visual details. If police asked me to help with a photofit picture of anybody, I would be of 0 help.
I am (generally) image focused, but for this quiz I mainly relied on other methods. I did "Sst yo, there are 2 countries in S-america and 2 oceania islands" and something with som forgot what exactly I made of it, like there are som' over there.
sst=south sudan, somalia, tunisia
yo=yemen, oman
som= syria, ehmm.. austria haha (starts with an o in my language though and people seem to prononounce it ostria anyway) and mongolia.
And well the last one I remember part visually part by name, zimbabwe.
Em I guess there were more in sst, also senegal and tanzania, though I beleieve I remembered tanzania seperately.
So I could have done "Yo Sam, there are 2 oceania islands, ssstt, don't forget zambia, and 2 in S-America."
As you can see I grouped per continent too. In this cause combined Europe and asia, I might not have if the group was different.
Got 100% on the first go and normally I suck in these memory games haha. Incredible how much better my mind works when it comes to geography knowledge and memorising maps.
I feel like an absolute idiot, I did this quiz 8 times before I got them all. The kicker: I got 14/15 on every single other try. One country always somehow slipped my mind.
Only got 12 the first time because I didn't bother counting and missed the smaller countries. The second time I spent more time looking for the smaller countries than studying the map.
Great quiz, although I could do better I enjoy having a go. I find that after I do the quiz about 3 times I am keeping too much of the other quizzes in my memory box :o)
I'm proud of my bad memory for getting this on the first try.
I decided to go in with mnemonics cuz my memory sucks so I came up with mnemonics for the different continents countries. There was only 1 in the Americas and 1 in Oceania, so I just kept their normal names. And the 3 i got in Africa didn't start with a vowel so I just repeated LCG 'til I had started and could type them in. The actual mnemonics came into play for Europe and Asia. I used GRINS for Europe cuz I got Greece, Romania, Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland. Then I had to be more creative with Asia and made SKYLIK cuz I got South Korea, Yemen, Laos, Iran, and Kazakhstan. I found my mnemonics funny and figured I'd share them.
One trick I found helpful is to close your eyes shortly after looking each section of the map, and then to see if you can remember it afterward. Do that for each section of the map, and then doing it again for all of them before checking to make sure that there are 15. After all that, you're pretty much set to ace the quiz.
Edit: That's actually as bit of a challenge. I only missed Belize, which I didn't have time to notice.
