There is a man who got people to donate some money so that he could fence off an area get rid of the feral animals and set free a bunch of bilbies.

It is going really well.

Got one wrong as a Kiwi. I’m amazed how low some of the scores are. I thought everyone would know koala, kangaroo and salties are Australian!

I am embarrassed that I got a 12/18. Why am I embarrassed about that... I had to remember the Disney Show Bluey which takes place in Brisbane Australia. That is the only reason why I know Bilby too. Bob Bilby!

Cassowaries are native to Australia and Papua New Guinea but are a correct answer. Saltwater Crocodiles are native to Australia and numerous Asian and African countries but are an incorrect answer. What's the rule here?

Saltwater crocodile is not an incorrect answer. The correct answers are all native to Australia but not necessarily exclusively, so some of them may also be found in other countries. Added a caveat to clarify (just awaiting approval).

I'm not sure if dingos count as being native to australia tbh, from waht i remember they are were brought (albeit a long time ago) from asia, but they did not originate here

They are indeed native, however what you are thinking of is perhaps the status of endemic?
+1
Level 69
Nov 16, 2025
Well technically they were introduced, but are still usually considered native because that was 4,000 or so years ago and they have since formed an integral part of the Australian ecosystem.

Fun quiz but maybe say "Animals that live wild in Australia or something. "Native" is vague, especially in reference to Dingoes who were introduced as a species.

Level 84

I think the existing wording is fairly self-explanatory and as dingos have been in Australia for 4000 years or so, I think that makes them native.
