As someone from Mauritius, I found many similarities with Mauritian Creole.

I find it doesn't look like french, but it sounds like french, with a weird accent

Very nice series indeed :)

After taking some of those quizzes and feeling hopeless I'm starting to recognize - and hear - French words here behind the heavy accent! Except for 'bed' and 'tree', do not know what could be the origin of those.

Tree comes from pied (foot) + bois (wood). I don't know why those words exactly but it's an interesting origin :)
