Nice! I know Telugu so it was quite a bit easier.

Great! I also got all of them knowing Telugu. The Romanization for "rain" has an extra e though. And to clarify, for "like" did you mean the verb "to like", or "like" as in being like something?

Thanks for having a go. Hopefully it should be clear that it's the verb given the choice of answers but I've made a change anyway.

Native Kannada speaker here: yāke (ಯಾಕೆ) is more commonly used for "why" than ēke.

yes, ಏಕೆ (Ēke) is used more in textbook kannada as i've seen; i've never used ಏಕೆ.

I have thought for a long time, that Kannada is one of the indigenous languages in Canada. So maybe the origin of the name is the same as it is in case of Indians in America? Columbus gave them the name because he thought he was in India. Or is it just a coincidence? Btw whats Canada called in Kannada? Greetings from Canada.

Canada comes from an indigenous Iroquoian word for village, Kanata. Major Indian languages mostly just code-switch English names for countries nowadays, even though there are some older names. Since Canada is a newer country there isn't really an alternative to borrowing the English name though.
