'Egg-layers' are those whose young hatch from eggs outside the body. Some animals, known as 'livebearers', retain eggs inside the body, but give birth to live young, so do not count as 'egg-layers'.

That must be a different Google than the one I used as all my searches say the opposite! According to Wikipedia "Boa constrictors are viviparous, giving birth to live young".

The word viper is etymologically linked to live birth. So how you managed to find a species that lays eggs is... a nasty trick to say the least.
