Land's End to John o'Groats Road Trip (map)

This quiz shows just one possible route between the two extremes of the British mainland, from Land's End in the south west of Cornwall to John o'Groats in the far north east of the Scottish highlands. Thousands of people have made the trip between these two points using a wide variety of methods - be it driving, motorbiking, walking, running, paragliding or perhaps the most popular method, cycling.
Can you guess the places visited? Apart from the starting point, all are cities, towns or villages - some are well known, some less so, so a hint is provided for each.
This isn't the fastest or shortest route but is a leisurely one taking in some interesting places along the way.
The world record time for cycling the 'traditional' 874 mile route between these two points is currently
just over 41 hours.
