I find it very impressive that the Incas managed to hold an empire of this size, without horses/other animal transport (besides llamas which cannot carry a human being). I remember reading about the series of runners used to relay information, spaced within just kilometres of one another, allowing for a surprisingly effective means of communication.
I've seen people dismiss the Incans due to how recent their civilization peaked (I think there is a misconception that Machu Picchu is much more ancient than it really is, for example), but I'll always have a great respect for the society they built, using what was avaliable to them.
I also remember learning in history class that they had a very efficient bureaucracy that involved a complex system of offering labor as "taxes" in exchange for land and public works, somewhat akin to socialism. They also lacked knowledge of the wheel and didn't even have a writing system. That they built a civilization as developed as the ones in the Old World without many of its advantages is truly impressive indeed.
(Same with the Aztecs, although I think they had a writing system)
Yes! Thank you! I agree, not all quizzes should be difficult, especially ones like this where it’s related to other more difficult quizzes. Like Persian Empire quiz should exist but Inca not? Just because it only spans a couple countries?
Sometimes people forget that experienced people aren’t the only people who exist, people who are getting into history, geography, vexillology, etc. need some way to learn stuff, doing quizzes helps with that, easy or not. Quizzes can be any type of difficulty, so hopefully people realize that, anyways, amazing quiz! :D
Your this map is better than the Persian Empire one (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
