I intend to omit this because there is some confusion about this between Tarawa and South Tarawa. The main capital quiz states that its capital is Tarawa while Wikipedia states that it is South Tarawa.
Seriously though, I know a bunch of other people have mentioned it, but I think we should at least get an explanation? It's clearly 4 different letters, a "space" isn't a letter...
Give us something to explain you reasoning at least, even if we don't agree with it.
I'm back, two years later. Seriously, can you just explain why you don't list La Paz? Why continuing ignoring the questions?
If it's a good explanation, we'll leave you alone to make your own determinations, but I think you can at least be expected to provide some sort of justification.
Perhaps accept 'Kyiv' since it also works with 4 different letters.
Also, Sucre is the capital of Bolivia, as codified in the country's constitution. La Paz isn't given any particular role at all in the constitution. Stay strong and ignore the haters!
Thanks for the possible explanation, which caused me to research the issue, though I still don't think it justifies much. La Paz is still the seat of government, and houses both the executive and legislative branch. Plus, that Constitution was only drafted in 2009 under decidedly un-democratic circumstances, so I'm not sure it should be the only determination here.
Regardless, I'd really just like the quiz maker to comment on the issue instead of refusing to answer anyone.
@The Crusher - Yeah that's true, no need to accept Kyiv!
@Grandmo - Certainly a lot of controversy could've been avoided if PSTSCCH had just explained it earlier. The previous 1967 constitution didn't give any status to La Paz either, so just because the Morales government wasn't perfect doesn't mean that there is any reason that La Paz is anything other than an unofficial or de facto extra capital - like The Hague in the Netherlands.
Since La Paz is recognized everywhere else in JetPunk as the (or a) capital of Bolivia, it should be accepted here. Although since JetPunk has officially recognized Russia's annexation of Crimea, at least they don't list the capital of Ukraine as "Moscow".
Indeed. Sucre and Amsterdam are constitutional capitals, La Paz and The Hague are de facto capitals. Sucre has at least the supreme court, Amsterdam doesn't. Two capitals in Bolivia made sense before 2009 when both were only de facto capitals, now it's clearly like in the Netherlands.
From my understanding, in order to avoid conflict as much as possible, Jetpunk typically defaults to what the United States government recognizes, which is why Kosovo is a country but Palestine is not for example. But Crimea is odd because the US state department issued a statement back in February 2021 with the words "We affirm this basic truth: Crimea is Ukraine" so i'm a little confused as well as to why Jetpunk has taken this particular stand on their map quizzes.
That's not correct @buck1017. We don't care what the US government (or any government) says. We go with the facts on the ground. We are not making a political stance. In fact, we are doing our best to avoid political stances altogether.

Not for this quiz, it's just that I've mentioned it a lot but never got an answer.
Otherwise it's a great quiz.
