Enter an answer into the box. List of countries with the highest median wealth, not yearly income. Median is the halfway point if you were to list household wealth in order. Use of median is more accurate than mean (average) since the latter allows for a few numbers at either the high or low to distort the results. Updated in 2022 and expanded to 20 countries.
Fine quiz, but you may want to include some brief explanation of what "median wealth" means since people are so used to looking at average (mean) incomes or GDP per capita which have nothing to do with the statistic you chose to focus on.
We have the same source -- Credit Suisse - except I have the 2012 version and you have the 2011 version. Yes, the median wealth is different than both income and the mean wealth. Citing the mean wealth would allow distortions caused by a few either extremely high or low numbers.
The median invites other types of distortions. Just two different ways of trying to find the middle of a group. I wasn't saying one way was better than the other just that one is more commonly used and understood.
