Conversely, I consider lamb/mutton the epitome of Indian cuisine - there's nothing like a lamb rogan josh or a sag gosht washed down with a pint or three!
Being from New Zealand, which has such a high proportion of sheep compared to its population, it was hard for me to work out that the only other countries with such high numbers of sheep had to have huge populations, and so spent the whole time just guessing random European, Central Asian, and South American countries, to little avail.
Are you sure that all of these answers are correct? Nearly half of the countries mentioned here are located in a desert and I doubt that sheep can live in a desert. Please correct me if I am wrong.
BigGeographyGuy: might want to reconsider your username, too.
From my perspective, 5 countries (Australia, Algeria, Chad, Morocco, Mali, Sudan) all have significant desert areas, but are all large enough to have plentiful grazing areas. I don't think of any of the other countries as being "in the desert", certainly not nearly half.
Took me to the very end to figure out the country with the MOST sheep. I guessed all of the African countries before considering China. I'll have to think very hard about whether I've ever had lamb at a Chinese restaurant. *heads off to research traditional Chinese lamb dishes*
Im from IRAN and WHY TF do we have this many sheep? what? I mean we do have sheepmeat in every single food but STILL. I didnt know having kaleh pache (sheep head) for breakfast affected our country this much
I think the answers might need an update, according to worldstats, Saudi Arabia has bumped above South Africa and bumped out Russia something along those lines
The 3 African countries surprised me - just guesses that got me 100% but with only 4 secs left.
Fun quizzes, thanks.

English has strange plurals.
