Ad then you are NOT doing the alphabet in reverse but in the normal order. You are doing the quiz in reverse. And yes it defeats the purpose. Though this is hardly an intelligence test, if on a test to test/asses your intelligence you cheated, what would be the point, it doesnt make you smarter or anything. And in this case there is nothing to be gained either, no prize money or anything (which STILL shouldnt make you want to cheat, but atleast I can understand the logic then)
So, who are you fooling, and why?? Is it an ego thing? to fool yourself to think that you are good?
For some reason, I've taught myself do both say and type the alphabet backwards. This is the first time it's come in handy. Even when I've been pulled over they didn't ask me to do this.
I learnt the alphabet backwards as a way to distract myself and get rid of hiccoughs. Didn't work brilliantly for the hiccoughs but I can now say the alphabet backwards easily!!
Hah I did it for fun after getting it with 2 seconds left the normal way. And backwards (the cheating way) feel like I was going at super speed (one slight pause Wasnt sure if the letter took and if i needed to move to the next box or not) and finished with 4 seconds left haha. Hardly made a difference ! So weirdly I must have done much better the original way, going backwards, than I thought, or moving the box took more time than I realised. Only 2 seconds difference wow.. (on 2nd run 6 sec to spare, but if I do backwards another time i am sure I can scrape a second or two off there aswell)
yes! I thought it was gonna be one of those extreme stress things, but I got it with 2 seconds remaining. yes you need to go fast, but it is doable, unlike some quizzes you know you arent gonna reach and stress out and totally get a mindblock or something. There are better things to e proud of, but still satisfying that I am one of the 6% that got them all the first try :)
I cheated by pressing the 'up' button, then typing 'A', then pressing the 'up' button again, then typing the next letter of the alphabet, then repeating, etc. etc.
Is this really used as a field sobriety test? Would the average police officer know the alphabet backwards - no offense to police officers. Or do they have a card with the backwards alphabet to check if the motorist is really getting it right.
I clicked on the last box, started the quiz, pressed A, then the up arrow key, and so on. Just start from the last box and go through the alphabet, but press the up arrow key in between each letter.
Personally, I just pulled up another browser screen with a picture chart of Z through A and minimized it, so I could look and type from it. Sometimes people just get frustrated trying a quiz 40 times and not being able to get all 5 points, and want to move on from it. Since there are no cash prizes, and there's absolutely nothing to gain except prestige from having a higher score on JetPunk, who cares about how people accomplish the quiz? Ingenuity is another form of intelligence.
I was taught to sing the alphabet to myself to make sure I was washing my hands for 20 seconds. During Covid, I got so bored singing the alphabet all the time, I started singing it backwards for a challenge. So, thanks to Covid, I got this one easily (probably the only think I'll ever thank Covid for).
