I'd say the height of the Byzantine Empire was in the days of Justinian. It never reached the same any more after the rise of Islam.

Hmm.... maybe the Byzantines reached their cultural/artistic/religious height, not necessarily by land area. It could mean different things.

Shouldn't Turks also be accepted for Seljuks? I'm pretty sure Seljuk was just a particular dynasty of Turks
