These are the 15 most densely populated United States metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs), as defined by the Office of Management and Budget. MSAs are defined by counties or county equivalents and should not be confused with urban areas. Based on 2019 population estimates from the Census Bureau.
This metric depends heavily on arbitrary things like the size of counties and which counties the OMB decides to include in its MSA definitions
