And now Fulham have been relegated (2014), as have Wigan (2013). Stoke City (2008), Swansea City (2011) and Bournemouth (2015) are the only team now to have been promoted to the Premier League without having subsequently been relegated. Huddersfield Town and Brighton & Hove Albion get to start making their case this upcoming season.
Hi, it’s 2020 and now none of those examples are valid. Stoke City and Swansea City we’re both relegated in 2017/18, followed by Fulham (again) in 18/19 and Bournemouth in 19/20. Brighton & Hove Albion, on the other hand, has been promoted without being relegated.
And the seven become six. End of an era. I guess it's not mathematically impossible yet--Norwich, Sunderland and Newcastle would have to lose all their remaining games, and Aston Villa win all theirs by an average margin of 4 goals...
5/6, not bad for a Yank. I only missed Everton and actually really surprised they've never been relegated. I guess being stationed in the UK for 5 years paid off!
I guess he means those who have never been promoted to the Prem - as all were founding members. Everyone else in the league has at some point, or multiple times, been promoted up to the Premier League.
"teams that have played in every premier league season since its inception"
- Notts County
-Portsmouth
-Brighton
etc
10 seconds, quite an easy quiz but fun and a good idea
Although Everton might get removed from this list in the near future :/
