ah... I think I might have gotten Spitfire except for some reason I thought you were looking for a pilot and not the name of the aircraft.

Also, was it really Poland that cracked enigma? I know it was the Polish who managed to capture one of the devices, which was a vital part, but I thought it was British or American codebreakers who actually figured out how to make it work and decipher the coded messages.

The Polish Cypher Bureau bought a commercial enigma machine in 1928 and deduced how the enigma machine worked. Where in 1932 they passed their secrets on to the British (who sent what they found out to Bletchley Park in 1939) and the French.
