The title "Infante" was born by all male descendants of Iberian kings other than the heir apparent, i.e., all sons of the king but the oldest living son. "Infanta" was used for all the daughters because princesses were seldom ever heirs apparent.
I'm fine with either one and generally prefer AD just for historical flavor and consistency, even though it's historically inaccurate, but I could be persuaded to root for CE if it meant pissing off people who react to the question of which convention should be used by typing in all caps.
That's it, I'm changing all the dates into AH (After Hijra).
Just kidding. I like AD better because that's the way it has always been done. CE feels like snobbery. But the only thing I'm certain of is that it doesn't really matter.
It's the way that it's always been done... by Christians. Pick up any copy of the Qur'an. Muslims will not be dating the creation of their religion using a Latin phrase calling Jesus "lord".
As a teacher of both history and religion, I can tell you that BCE / CE is not snobbery. It's the standard dating method taught to students from primary school. We only teach BC/AD as a historical relic.
Because it saves them from having to think about the important stuff: the real world is very scary. I reckon that kalbahamut hasn't been outside for at least 10 years - much safer to be the self-appointed lord of the keyboard world.
Putting the Industrial revolution starting in 1760 is a highly contentious point. Its really not something you can pinpoint a 'start' date for. Anyway , good quiz.
BTW, here's a good way to remember the spelling of Machu Picchu: the pronunciation in Quechua is "Ma-chu Pik-chu" - the first word only needs a 'ch' sound, but the second word has two c's for the 'k' and the 'ch' sounds.
"Pikchu" means mountain in Quechua, and is often/usually written k-ch like that.
INLA - Irish National Liberation Army is a better answer than IRA. The latter is a whole-island thing, whereas INLA was formed specifically for action in the north
I know that some people consider the term Iroquois to be derogatory or offensive. It’s a name used by the Huron (Arakwa), reinterpreted in French as Iroquois, but originated as an intentional slur from a competing nation. The word comes from “snake.” I don't have an opinion on whether it should be in this quiz but sharing FYI. Regardless of offense, it’s a name given by one group to another, so in that sense, it’s inaccurate - Haudenosaunee is the self-defined name of this nation of people.

Honestly, we were both sick of each other, though if you look at later maritime disaster records, we worked and died together. 😔
Me: "Hmmm, must be a pretty ancient civilisation, I have no idea what it could be..."
Answer: Iceland
Me, an Icelander: "Right. Yes. Of course."
