What is the difference between Urban and Metro Area? My title for a quiz had "Metro Areas" in it, but when it was featured, Quizmaster edited it to say "Urban Areas", so I believed they were identical.

My understanding is that an urban area population is the number of people living in a continuously built up area. But the metro area will go beyond there, and is more to do whether that area has significant links to the main city. For example if it was a major commuter town, but separated from the main built up area then its population would be included in the metro population but not the urban one.

Wow. I wonder why the quiz title was changed then.
