I like that it is hard, it is nice to see a hard quiz people at "jetpunk geography level" on this site. But it is a little bit extreme, 6 cities are here that I haven't heard of in all my life but missing some obvious ones like Hanover, Haarlem or Heihe. I know there isn't as many h's but still this one is by far harder than all other ones. Great quiz still though, keep it up :)
I'd say it's H, but as EEAA... says, there's also Haarlem (North Holland, Netherlands). Considering it gave the name to a New York neighbourhood it can't be that obscure? (Homs, Huelva, Hargeisa, Hermosillo and Huambo .. never heard of those)
I've definitely heard of Homs, it's been in the news often since the start of the civil war, but am not familiar with the rest of sillie's never-heard-of list, as well.
Seriously, I typed it two times and wondered what H-city could possibly be so close to Hannover. I went to Wikipedia and found this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_European_cities_in_different_languages:_E%E2%80%93H
Quizmaster asks whether this H Cities quiz and the G version are "too hard to feature"? I'd say "No!" and would put yellow stars on these two - it's great to have quizzes to stretch us ever further! 74 of Jetpunk's featured quizzes score 30% or less, but these G and H Cities quizzes are way easier than all those, currently averaging 40% and 48% respectively.
I know it's a bit late, but I wholeheartedly agree with some new answers. After a while it becomes automatic to fill in some answers without even looking at the quiz.
Hargeisa has a population of roughly over a million, and its the capital of a proclaimed unrecognized sovereign state. I'm pretty sure it at least deserves to be on this list.
Hamhung is well-known because of the dish of spicy cold noodles called Hamhung noodles, also known as bibimnaengmyeon. The ones in cold soup are most well-known and named for the capital, Pyongyang naengmyeon, or mulnaengmyeon and another variation are served with raw fish. The first two are often eaten after Korean barbecue.
Surprised not to see Helena, Hartford or Harrisburg (American state capitals) here. They may not be very big, but are probably more recognisable than the 18th largest Mexican city. I found it interesting to discover the cities in Somaliland, Angola, Spain and Syria, which were new to me. Thanks for the quizzes.
Even though I missed a handful of these, I'm glad to see cities I've never heard of before on a quiz like this. It does get kind of old doing city quizzes over and over and barely needing to think, it's a good challenge and opportunity to learn about new places!
This! I don’t understand why people complain about it being too hard, I think this quiz is made difficult, it got me to think on the cities by letter quiz much more than it does for the others.
also it's shown with a big dot on google maps lol
Hamhung, North Korea
Hebron, Palestine
Hama, Syria
and Harar, Ethiopia
Also, can Hargeysa be accepted? That’s how I originally learned it.
Also, may I suggest allowing Hargeysa with Y?
