Agreed. French Guiana is a fully integrated part of the French Republic, with the status of Région, same as places like Normandy and Île de France. Calling it an "overseas possession" is inaccurate.
No one's trying to claim French Guiana is a country. We're just saying that France should be an answer since French Guiana is a fully integrated part of France, just like Corsica.
So France should be added, otherwise it is inconsistent with other quizzes on this site. If Brazil is a neighbor of France on the quiz "countries larger than all its neighbors" then it should be on this Quiz.
Yes, France is a country in Europe, North America (with Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Caribbean), South America (with French Guiana) and Africa (with Reunion and Mayotte)
an interesting discussion... to add, when looking at the wikipedia entry for france, the first sentence states:
"France...is a transcontinental country predominantly located in Western Europe and spanning overseas regions and territories in the Americas and the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans."
This isn't made by jetpunk, its made by a user. also it is pretty common knowledge that Trinidad is counted as the Caribbean, nobody says it's part of South America. Panama borders Colombia, does that mean it should be South America too - obviously not.
Technically neither are on continent since islands are only counted as part of continent for simplicity. It depends on your view of the sea it is in. Caribbean sea is mostly around North America. Mediterranean sea is a bit trickier since it's transcontinental.
This was incredibly easy but it's fine. These type of quizzes is more for beginners, the one who just came to this site, to learn more and increase their knowledge.
This one, sure, but Africa, Asia, and Europe are tough for me. Europe and Asia were easier before Yugoslavia and the USSR broke up. Africa would have been easier in the colonial days.
but I didn't rush
Should throw in France to mess with everyone.
"France...is a transcontinental country predominantly located in Western Europe and spanning overseas regions and territories in the Americas and the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans."
Trinidad is in the Caribbean, sure, but that's like saying "Cyprus isn't in Asia, it's in the Mediterranean."
The incoherence is that Trinidad is included on the North American quizzes, even though it's much closer to South America than Cyprus is to Asia.
From Wikipedia's Trinidad & Tobago article: "The islands are a physiographical extension of South America."
No, I do not desire a return to the past.

Would have been better had I not momentarily forgot the placement of Paraguay and Uruguay
