Cyprus is not working for UK, East Timor for Indonesia and Côte d'Ivoire for France. As I noticed.

Yeah I wasn't sure. I excluded it because it was most recently North Vietnam and South Vietnam before unifying - but again could be wrong.

Could the case be made for Liberia having being colonised by America? It was never technically a colony of America, I think, but it was established by America.

Also, what about China with Mongolia? The Mongols did conquer China in the 1200s(?), but it gave birth to the Mongol-ruled Yuan dynasty and eventually became predominantly Han in terms of culture until it collapsed.

Also, if you say that Germany gave independence to France, then why didn't it give independence to the Netherlands?
