Countries of the World with an Empty Map - Hard Version
Name all the countries of the world. Once you name a country it will appear on the map. To make it harder, the names of the countries aren't shown when guessed.
For the lesser antilles, I was going to do Antigua & Barbuda first, but I chose the "Saint" countries first. However, I soon had one country left Which was Antigua & Barbuda. I wasted a minute until I found out that I had missed Antigua & Barbuda.😂🤣😂🤣.
El Salvador almost, took me few minutes to get it. I have "finished" it with 192/196 and apart El Salvador I ended up missing Bangladesh, Denmark and Cyprus but got them all☺️
I forgot both of the Koreas on my first play, and the Philippines on my second, however I finally managed to guess all of the countries on the third while nearly forgetting about Cape Verde and Sao Tome.
I actually (Surprisingly) passed first try. I almost missed Iceland and PNG. In the one with the list I ALWAYS get those so idk what happened there lol.
That moment when you're checking all of the small islands countries in the Caribbean and then you realize that you forgot Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia...
A similar thing happened to me. I was double and triple checking all the little island nations in the Pacific and the Caribbean, trying to figure out which three I had forgotten, before I realized that I was actually missing the Baltic states.
I missed one: Ireland. Of all the countries to miss, I should not have forgotten one I've actually visited. I also still can't believe that only missing one still means I only beat 71% of people.
missed greece haiti (had hait when time ran out ) Bahrain, and the stupid freaking Maldives which I always forget on the blankones for some reason.. I got macedonia, bahamas and Srilanka.. which , I use greece as a cue for macedonia, srilanka for maldives, bahamas for bahrain and dominican rp /dominica for haiti
Wait. Only 97% of people got the US? I wonder who wouldn't see a massive gaping hole between Canada and Mexico. I really liked this though. Almost forgot the Marshall Islands, but managed to get 100% just in time.
It's because people do the test multiple times improving their score, and in the percentage it counts people's highest score, whilst in the "average score" it considers ALL the scores
Ummm, So I know a lot of people already said this but I feel like I should say it again. This quiz seems like it definately will be featured soon, and most people who play it, probably will need the new names, such as eSwatini rather than Swaziland
I usually get all 196 no problem on the regular version. But I missed 16 without the list. I even missed Ireland, and I live in the UK! It just shows how much the alphabetical list helps when doing the quiz.
I consider myself to a fairly learned person and have traveled fairly extensively, globally, and I got 144 correct. I absolutely REFUSE to believe that the AVERAGE score was 175 out of 196 countries. 88% of quiz takers got "Eritrea"? Really? Just not possible. Maintain the integrity of the quiz and your personal integrity, people, by not using Google during the quiz to get the answers. The only one really being cheated is you. The guy who posted that he completed the thing in 4 minutes? Total bull****. He can't even type that fast.
Among the general population, yes, that would be an insane average. But this is Jetpunk. I found this place because I was trying to learn world geography, and the original version of this quiz was how I learned all the countries. I practiced a lot on that quiz to get to where I am now, always getting all 196 even without a list or being able to see the small countries. I doubt I'm special, I think that's just the sort of person this site, and this quiz especially, attracts. Practice a bit and you too will be getting a perfect score like most of the takers of this quiz. If I'm not mistaken, it averages the best scores of each user that took it, not all the attempts, so that raises the score a bit as well.
Without Eritrea and Djibouti, the Red Sea looks too big. Eritrea is easy to get. East Timor is where I had issues and that was just because I forgot for four minutes that there were islands on that side of Darwin, Australia.
My first time on this one, and I completed it in 3:27. I've done the other "Countries of the World" (3:20) and "...with an empty map" (3:29) so many times that I have a routine and never look at the list of answers (or even the map, really). You may need to update your estimation of what's possible. ;)
5:34 on first try, I'm happy with that but can't believe I missed the koreas...wasted about 20 seconds at the end before I realised the whole peninsula was missing!
There are 193 UN members. 2 more countries - Vatican and Palestine - are countries that are recognized by the UN, but aren't members. Kosovo and Taiwan aren't recognized by the UN. Taiwan, Kosovo and Vatican are in the game, but Palestine isn't? Time to update the game!
Yeah, I figured this wouldn't be much harder than the usual version, cause I just use the map and list countries geographically. Except the list is useful when you get to the end and you forgot something invisible xD
I finally did it. I don't want to say anything about my time because I don't want to brag. I'm just happy I finally accomplished it after so many tries
Finally got all 196, on my 3rd try. It’s easier if you know the total for each continent and only move to the next continent when you’re done with the last one. Good quiz.
I cant believe I didn't realise I didn't do ecuador until I looked at the map and noticed a little white spot. Cause it was showing south america for me.
So... i start off getting most of the countries, constantly reminding myself to get ALL the tiny island countries... i get to 193/196 with about 5 or 6 minutes of time to go, at this time, i'm re-hearsing all the small teeny countries, to make sure i didn't miss any, eventually, with 3 minutes to go, i finally remember Dominica, then i just start zooming all over the map, and with around 1:30 left on the clock i zoom into the Middle East.... i'm missing Qatar and Bahrain! 196/196
I can’t believe that of all the island nations and invisible micronations I forgot PHILIPINES and BAHAMAS! I just feel incredibly stupid, since if I would have thought of one of them, I would’vw thought of the other one too since they are a bit similar to me… aghhh
Amazing quiz. It was hard to remember them all but I usually do North America then South America then Europe then Africa then Oceania then Asia and I have the same final seven countries at the end so once I get to 189 I know I am there! Thank you.
You have to focus when doing the Pacific Island nations and trying not to duplicate, but the larger green dots means you can at least count to see if one of the 11 is missing. It's a lot more challenging to track the Caribbean islands
7:42 remaining. I guess doing the original countries of the world quiz so many times has made this muscle memory. Got 193 without stopping and then realized I had skipped Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. Thankfully having all of those missing last made it easy to notice the gap between russia and turkey.
(I also missed Tuvalu but I think that's more excusable)
i spent too much looking for small islands and didnt check mainland
United Arab Emirates
Qatar
Monaco
Kuwait
Bahrain
East Timor
This beats or equals 58.6% of test takers
...only on Jetpunk

Not, of course, to be confused with the People's Republic of China.
(hope that was clear😅)
You seem to feel pretty cheated, too.
But seriously, Jetpunk is a site for geography nerds. Eritrea is no hurdle for many.
Mainly small african countries missed
It was Philippines and Madagascar :/
common mistake
I'm so happy, 'cause at the beginning I could barely get more than 60%
1. United States
