Lake Como is where George Clooney spends much of his time. Also, remember it because it is almost spelled the same way as the present and former governors of New York: Cuomo.
Can we please start to accept Czechia already ? I mean that's the way they want it now anyway and it's a pain in the ass to write Czech Republic every time.
I must admit I tried it, but then realised, ow yea wasnt there a theme here.... ah yes, europe. (easy to forget when most of the answers would be the same regardless of the quiztitle. But well, once chad isnt accepted, it should really ring a bell (ok tried CAR too hahah, was faster than trying to remember did I typ it correctly, could the be another reason why chad wasnt accepted. But after typing CAR I was, like ow yea)
Usually, or something similar. On almost all of these themed quizzes I ve seen atleast one comment, "ow I forgot it was capitals/had to start with" etc. Forgetting it during a quiz is one thing, but leaving an angry comment about it is just silly.
Especially the complaints for letter quizzes about something with starting another letter not being accepted. The slip between just countries/capitals europe or worldwide is easily made (but again, if you don't realizing during or after a quiz, you should really make a habit out of checking your comment before posting (people should anyway) "Is this a silly comment? could there be anything in here that is obviously incorrect or totally ungrounded. Am I being fair?"
This goes for all comments, also what quite a few people seem to have difficulties with "Am I being rude, is my tone appropriate?"
Honest mistakes certainly happen, but if everyone followed your advice this phenomenon would be much less of a problem. Unfortunately, the demographics that find themselves on this site seem to have particular struggles with tactfulness and engaging in productive social discourse
The mountains that are commonly accepted as the division between Europe and Asia are the Urals (googling it gives the Urals as the result). I believe the Caucausus clue could be different, such as "Mountain range after which a branch of the human race is named".
Enjoyable quiz nonethless, perhaps others don't agree with my remark but that's fine.
You mock, but I actually had a brain fart and was trying Chad and the CAR until the penny dropped and I realized it was a EuRoPeAn QuIz. Sigh. More coffee.
Given that someone not far above you commented the exact same thing in full honesty, I think it's not unreasonable for someone who isn't familiar with tone indicators to make that assumption
East coast what?? They aren't talking about Dublin or something. It is clearly on the south coast (and yes, west of the center but not sure adding west to it is necessary). County Wexford is on the southeast corner, anything above that is eastcoast, anything to the left is southcoast.
Would you say Dublin is on the northcoast then?? And Galway on the south?
Boggled how you can think Cork is in the east of Ireland
Maybe this makes it easier for you if you cut ireland into 4 quarters, so 2 straight lines through the center, Cork is definitely in the southwest part.
(And not something crazy like northeast unless you stand on your head.). I am trying to think if there is any other city you might be confused with, but really can't come up with anything.
I don't think he was confusing it with anything, he just did't count Wexford for division between east and south coast but rather continued the east coast all the way down to around Skibbereen an only divided between east and west coast. It is wrong, but at least there is a logic in there.
Accepted for what question? Landlocked country (not a country, an exclave), subdivision of Switzerland (not what "subdivision" means) or italian lake (not a lake, it's a city)?
Tour with me before the Rick Steeves effect!

By the way, Google "instant answers" are a trainwreck of misinformation.
I get that it is quite a way west of the most easterly point of Ireland but even then if you look at an east west continuim is pretty central

CRIMEA - IS UKRAINE?!
was founded in 1209" - obviously Oxford
Regardless, it's reflective of the modern world that more quiztakers know of Cannes than of Cambridge!
