It doesn't.

What it does have is lots of fossil fuels that it uses to power the very-energy-intensive aluminum smelting plants that produce aluminum metal from imported aluminum oxide. (Or they might import bauxite/aluminum ore, which is converted into aluminum oxide).

Where's the figure for gold for UAE coming up? Doesn't even show the UAE as a top producer from a map 10 years old and it doesn't appear in the top 20 in the article
