Pretoria is considered part of the Johannesburg urban area, so it appears along with Johannesburg as a single answer in the Biggest Cities in Africa quiz. Pretoria works as a type-in there though, so maybe it should work here too?
Hey, can I ask Pretoria be accepted as a type-in for Johannesburg as they're both in the same metropolitan area and are frequently put together in African city quizzes? Thanks
Yeah, I've noticed since I've been on this site that Perth seems to get a lot more attention than Brisbane, despite Brisbane being larger. And not only is Brisbane larger, it's the anchor of a much larger metropolitan area and the capital of a much more populous state. It really must be Perth's isolation that just draws attention to it on a map.
For the record, citypopulation.de (Jetpunk's standard go to for metro populations) lists Brisbane as 3,225,000 and Perth as 2,075,000. Brisbane's figure includes around 750,000 in Gold Coast, which in Australia is usually considered a separate metro area, but in practice the two do join.
Really surprised Jakarta beats out Hong Kong, Singapore, and Seoul. Not because it's not significant - it certain is - but because Indonesia in general really doesn't seem to feature much on this site, despite its huge size.
I'm very surprised to see Jakarta here. Even though it's absolutely huge, it's not that very well known by Westerners (which make a good percentage of the quiz takers on this site). Aussies might know it though. But I still expected Bangkok, Jerusalem, Dubai or another Indian city above it.
I'm still surprised not to see Seoul or Hong Kong.
I think, what cities come to your mind depends a lot of where you live.
