Lovely to see the dreaming spires pop up on here, my dad used to run a pub not far from where that was taken :)

How could you pass up a chance to include Ouagadougou in a quiz?! And Omsk is not too bad either.

Stupidly did not give attention to the state names on the Ozark map. Saw Boston and tried to think of an Appalachin branch in New England!

In my head, Orleans is inextricably linked with Joan of Arc.

Missed Ottawa and I'm Canadian. A beaver or a moose in front of the parliament building in the photo would have been a big help.

I know what Rozzi means - one would normally think of region as being some kind of defined area, whereas outback is just a generic term for the remote/uninhabited interior areas of of Oz

It amuses me how people complain about the US-centrism of this site. I am in this site to learn about other countries. I find it boring doing quizzes about my own country. I mean, I KNOW the answers already. Thanks to this site I can name every country and its capital in the world... every US state and its capital. I have learned volumes of other information about other countries. I am here for geography, history, literature and some odds and ends. When the quizzes are about sports, politicians, celebrities and other information that are yawn-inducing and useless to me... I do them anyway. Just for the points. And I cheat on these. Without compunction. Only drawback with this is... I can name every US basketball, football, golf and ice hockey player, past and present... and I don't want to know.

Suprised that Orleans got chosen over Oslo but maybe it's a recognition thing (although 22% isn't too exciting)

If people think the 'outback' picture features Ayres Rock... it doesn't. It is Mount Conner. In the Northern Territory like Ayres Rock. I have climbed Ayres Rock... nearly killed me.
