"Kingston" gets you "Kingstown", so how are the percentages different?

Guess: formerly, Kingston didn't get you Kingstown.

Interesting question, but it would make more sense if you had to guess each of Kingston and Kingstown without being given the other one for free.

Does guessing Kingstown get you Kingston, as well? If not, there you go.

That does't work, because Kingstown has lower percentage than Kingston.

And more to the point, why does Kingston get you Kingstown. I know it does on the world capitals quiz, but why? I think if you know your capitals, you should know the difference.

Agreed. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to enter both since I knew both.

Which? I can't think of any off hand.

Not in English, where a lot of capitals, who actually begin with K are spelled with C. For example Kopenhagen/Copenhagen.

If you're using the 'K', it would be Kobenhavn

Kopenhagen can also be right depending on what language we're talking about.

It is given as a type-in on the 'S' quiz, but this is K and the capital properly begins with S.

I felt cheated when I typed Kingston and got Kingstown as well. I was pleased with myself remembering Kingstown. Should have to type them both separately, it detracts from the quiz.

It is simply because some people call Kingston Kingstown I believe, or maybe it was the other way around.

Please accept Koala Lumpur. I realize that isn't how it is spelled, but autocorrect correct Kuala to Koala, which may mean someone won't get it or they waste time trying to figure out the mistake autocorrect made.

That's quite an amusing anecdote! But rather than change the quiz, why don't you just turn off autocorrect?

Remove the "Kingston" type in for Kingstown. They are two different words.

I have a feeling this would cause complaints in the opposite direction!

We could have an exception for this quiz only, but then people would say "you're not be consistent!!!"

It's a lose/lose situation.

For some reason I totally forgot Ukraine existed.. even "checked" Belarus, went through all the countries of Europe rougly 2,5 times..

It is the only one I missed too I even got Kampala and Kigali. Plus it is the most guessed answer.

I can't even blame it on lack of sleep this time, since I actually got several hours in this time. I guess just a random brain malfunction then..
