Actually, it seems to be helpful (at least to me) in this quiz to type the island nations first. I always type them together in the Countries of the World quiz so I am used to remember them together, and at the end of the quiz it's helpful if there are some big countries left on the map. I reached 48 after a few tries.
Sao Tome isn't last because of its long name; you only need the first two words to get it. It's last on the countries of the world quiz as well...which is why I always get it.
50/54 on the first try. And yes, I'm a geography nerd. What's weird though, is that I got 5 points even though there are people who typed more countries than me.
Right then, so this quiz requires you to think of the countries - and later on also think about the ones you've already said so you don't duplicate - and type them in in just over a second for each one - And there's people getting all of these. I have no idea how that is physically possible, unless you've got a list of the countries next to you and you're just copy typing.
Done in 55 seconds after months of attempts. This is what I do all day at work, folks. It has become clear to me that I need a new job. Please hire me. I can type stuff for you.
It's really not, when you think about it. We are allowed to type DR for Dominican Republic and KSA for Saudi Arabia. Why in the world don't we have the same option for EG in this case? After years of quizzes, I am so sick of typing Equatorial Guinea.
Yep, that's cheating. But surely if you're happy to cheat you'd be better off copying 'guinea'. Then you ctrl v, ctrl v bissau, and equatorial ctrl v. Or just type faster.
I can type 'guinea' very quickly - for me it's the 'equatorial' that's the problem!
And I 99% disagree that it's cheating.
This quiz is a speed-typing challenge in reality, but if it isn't described as such then nobody can call people out for cheating if they use non-speed-typing techniques to win!
Did it in 50 seconds! Was really fun, but what I did was try aiming for 18 countries in ten seconds (really short names like Egypt, Togo, and Benin) and half in twenty. Madagascar and everything else- you'll just have to type out sadly. Try finishing everything north of Central African Republic in 20-25 seconds
The percentiles tell that all the beginning countries are always started from Northern Africa. It kind of makes sense because the countries in Northern Africa just seem bigger to the quiz takers. We all assume that getting the big countries give us the victory. But a better way to actually complete the quiz is with short words and the muscle memory for countries. Good luck trying to get 100% :D
Though this might be cheating, I copy-pasted Equatorial Guinea because it was flippin' me up. At least if you have that copy-pasted, use the abbreviation CAR (Central African Republic) and type 'Congo' for both Congos, and have 180WMP or above, then you can get 100% with 3-8 seconds left.
There's 54 countries to name. In a time period of 1 minute, that means typing an average of around one country per second. Not impossible... but deffinetely difficult!
Your points are whatever is highest. So you can get 5 points as long as you beat 95% of people OR if you get 100% correct answers.
Ed: 11 tries later... Finished with 2 seconds left.
Actually saw that I did play this quiz before in 2015 and only got 35. Played a lot of speed runs of 'countries of the world' since then ;)
:''(
Other commenters in this thread have claimed to do it faster.

(BTW my best is 36/54 :()
(due to lack of time, not lack of remembrance.
