Imagine you're in another country and you say "My name's Scott" and they say "In our language we call that name Dongle so that's what we will call you". I think you'd be rightly annoyed your own name was not being respected, in fact other people were effectively renaming you. Using that same principle, we (and you should) respect that Côte d'Ivoire is that country's name, because its government has declared that its name is the same in every language. That's the case for just two other countries: Timor-Leste and Cabo Verde.
