Palestine is not recognized by Quizmaster on this site, so it should not be on this list. I assume it is one of the reasons it hasn't been featured yet.
Quiz websites do not get to "recognise" countries. The only entities that get to recognise nations that are other countries, through diplomatic recognition. In this case, most other countries (139 in all) recognise Palestine, which is sufficient for us to treat it as a country. By comparison, far fewer countries recognise Kosovo or Taiwan, which do get treated as countries on this website.
we've been over this before and JetPunk doesn't follow the popularity contest winner standard. Diplomatic recognition is a component of sovereignty, but only a component, and it doesn't have to be universal to count.
Since all the 10-, 11-, 12-, and 13-letter countries are from the 196 list it must've been tempting to forget about the 9-letter countries and 197-205 countries and just make it all single-word countries with ten letters or more. Giving Micronesia and grouping the 9-letter countries together in two sets to *kiiinda* make it the top 20 is a bit of a stretch...
Enjoyable though, just missed a couple of European ones and a couple of African ones.
I know it may be technically right, but does anybody actually say Netherlands instead of The Netherlands? Also, Luxemburg doesn't work as a correct spelling.
I didn't think of Netherlands as an answer, cause indeed 'the' is officially part of it. You can't say, 'I'm going to Netherlands next week.' Heck, even autocorrect tells me to add 'the' when typing the name without it.
I am annoyed I typed Madagascar in the Longest Country Names quiz and the in this one forgot about it alltogether.

..I am from The Netherlands..
