Doesn't "Independent" mean *not* part of a political party?

Strictly speaking, yes. If anyone didn't write "independent" because of the "party" header, please say so and I'll change the header to something else ("affiliation"?).

The 'independent' was an Independent Unionist. But there was no election in 2012 - these are the 2010 results - and there have been two elections since then, so hardly the most recent!!
