This quiz doesn't make any sense. The year Hilary Swank won was for the films of 1999, so it shouldn't be included here. On the other end of the decade, you're missing 2009, the year Sandra Bullock won. Never use the years of the ceremonies.
The year the film came out is the year that the awards honour. Who cares when the ceremony is held? Quizmaster is definitely wrong on this. I have about 45 DVDs of best picture winners in my collection and they literally all say "Best Picture winner of the year ____", where _____ is the year of release for the film, not when the ceremony was held. Please Quizmaster, let us have the correct dates of these movies!
@Dimby. Did you know that we used to have Oscar quizzes the other way around? Well, we did. We got lots of complaints just like yours. So I changed it. Now we get lots of complaints asking us to change it back. 🤷
It's not dead-naming to credit the name of the performer at the time.
