Great quiz!

Small suggestion: you could for example distinguish Italy and France by writing 'Monte Bianco' for Italy and 'Mont Blanc' for France

It's one of those not so clear cases but I think Cyprus should be listed under Asia

Okay, I've changed it to Asia. It *is* geographically in Asia, but it's in the European Union and I generally think of it as a European country, but treating Cyprus as an Asian country appears to be the Jetpunk convention.

cool quiz. Got all of them up through Ethiopia and then started getting a bit bored. Filled in a few others that seemed obvious or that I knew or could guess from spelling or process of elimination. Finished with 62.

Biggest claim to fame for me was getting Yemen- but that one wasn't too hard. It's the tallest mountain in Asia with an Arabic name outside of the Himalayan and surrounding cluster.

My source called it Ramelau, which is apparently the name of the massif of Tatamailau. I will add that to the hint, thanks!

I'm surprised that only 48% know the highest mountain in Germany. I mean that is less than the 50% who apparently know the highest mountain in Uzbekistan. As a German myself I always assumed the Zugspitze is well known even outiside of Germany. Well of course it's not as famous as the Mont Everest, Mont Blanc, Fuji, Denali etc. but still one of the more popular ones since it has a cable car going to it's top and it's close to Munich, one of our tourist cities. And even if you never heard of it the name alone should sound German enough and once you arrive at the Zugspitze in the list you already had two other German speaking countries before (Switzerland and Austria) so that only leaves Germany and Liechtenstein as possible answers.

Probably because we know that countries like Uzbekistan have high mountains. I, likely along with others, just named countries in Central Asia for many of them (Uzbekistan included) and many people also like to give up after a certain amount of time.

Andorra has a bigger mountain than Australia? Wow
+2
Level 46
Oct 11, 2022
not very surprising. Australia is in the middle of a massive tectonic plate. The only significant mountain range was formed over 300 million years ago and has therefore eroded significantly since formation. Meanwhile, Andorra is in the middle of one of the tallest mountain ranges on Earth
