When it comes to the Nintendo Entertainment System (or NES), few third party companies had quite the sterling reputation of Capcom. Already known for their dominance in the arcades in the mid-80s, Capcom brought their biggest hits to the NES and set the standard for quality and aesthetics for the entire lifespan of the console, a reputation that has largely remained to this day. While Capcom were known for top tier graphics, like many of their peers, the artwork on the boxes and cartridges was a different story.
