Shakespeare was born in 15645? Future English is so old-timey!

Actually I think it was a typo, because the year 15645 hasn't happened yet. We can't know what happens in the future.

Oh it has, but just on Qo'noS. After all, you've not experienced Shakespeare until you've read him in the original Klingon.

At least it explains the whole "Shakespeare is timeless" thing that teachers always tell us :D

Anyway, thanks for pointing it out, sumguy, and thanks for refuting the hoax, interopia :D

I can't believe 65% were able to spell Tenochtitlan right off the bat. It took me most of the allotted time to figure it out.

Helps if you watched a docu about it where they repeated the name about a million times and it will haunt you forever in the voice of the presenter.

I can never remember the Aztec and Incan capitals. I'm just thankful we weren't asked for the Mayan capital which I also wouldn't have known. I am terrible with capital cities, past or present. (But I loved the quiz.)

you're in luck since there was no mayan capital. their civilization was mostly city states.

That would be nice. And Magalhães for Magellan, too.

Translating proper names makes these quizzes extra hard. Sometimes I remember the names in the original language in addition to my mother tongue, but the English version is often impossible to figure.

It helps you learn English. Saying Magalhães to an English speaker in person or the internet is pointless.

Yea! Got them all.

Why do you think it's "a bit English-focused? Only Mary, Wolsey and Shakespeare....

Also, the quiz questions are written in English, so it's not unreasonable to expect the answers to be as well...just saying.
