To compare: Women's pregnancy lasts 9 months (about 39 weeks) on average and it ranges from 37 to 42 weeks (8-10 months). It needs to be mentioned, however, that human pregnancy is very specific and hardly comparable to other animals due to our use of methods invented by reason (medicine and such).

Wikipedia talks about an average of 270 days of pregnancy for humans which makes for about 38.5 weeks but at the same time sets birth at 40 weeks. I'm not sure if it's because of the nuance between "on average" and "normally" or if it's just inaccurate. I had a similar problem with several of the animals, too, especially with whales :/
