I thought about adding them. And many others. The number of defunct airlines in the US is amazingly high. Instead, I stuck largely with airlines that had been around for awhile and had either a large presence or historical impact in some way/shape/form.

I thought maybe you didn't include them since technically they never went completely bankrupt they just changed their name and then were absorbed by Southwest. But if that's not the reason, I would argue that they had a much bigger historical impact than many of these other airlines that I'd never heard of before. They were all over the news when that DC-9 crashed in the Everglades, and became notorious as having the worst safety record in the USA making them the butt of countless jokes.
