Always choose the biggest neighbor. When left with no neighbors go back to the previous country and follow with second biggest neighbor. Start with the world's largest country.
Not counting the Gibraltar border, Bahrain bridge border, or dubious India/Sri Lanka border
I followed it all (accepting the dubious inclusion of Sri Lanka - and presumably UK via the channel tunnel (or was it Gibrlatar?) and I'm guessing that you were ignoring the fact that Greenland is part of Denmark) until the last two. How did you get to the Dominican Republic?
India and Sri Lanka have a new land bridge; the UK was Gibraltar; Greenland has no undisputed borders; and the preamble made clear that Hispaniola was just an extra thing at the end for the only two countries that border each other, but nothing else.
I think what he's talking about is that, if Greenland was considered to be part of Denmark, then Denmark would be Germany's largest neighbor, not Poland.
It depends on how you count. By mainland area, Finland is larger. If you count Svalbard and other territories, Norway is larger. Seems that this quiz is going with mainland area.
Nice quiz, I did it in my first try in about 25 minutes, so I had to untime it. But could you change it that North Macedonia gets also accepted? I was stuck there because I tried North Macedonia, after about one minute I got the idea to try Macedonia and it was right, but it would be better if North Macedonia would be getting accepted
Brillant concept! I love how we have to come back to the prvious countris we did like ten minuts ago to find the last countries missing, at the end of the quiz. It's for these ideas that I continue to visit the English section. Congratulations, and nominated!
I liked this! Really obscure and hard. It was really hard to keep track of what country you need to go back to when stuck. And a huge shoutout to France for putting a bit of itself in South America so that the chain could be all in one go (except for Hispaniola though, maybe that one could be left out entirely)
very fun quiz. the key if you get stuck is to look at your list and go back until you find a country that isnt surrounded by countries you already have.
Bonkers quiz, loved it! I thought it was going to be impossible as I started, but then really got into it and really enjoyed the jumping back and forth between Africa, Europe and South America :)
Lovely quiz! I actually understood the concept quite well and think it's pretty clever! Some things were confusing but ultimately made sense if I backtracked far enough. Just a few notes, some countries (I noticed Cyprus and Vanuatu) are yellow as if they should eventually be valid answers, and Kosovo does not turn green when answered. Besides for that, lovely quiz!
Great idea for a quiz (and great execution), many thanks! Not sure whether it's just a bug for me or for everyone, but Kosovo didn't go green when I got it. Also, Cyprus should be greyed out.
Lovely quiz! One remark, when I came back to Germany (after going Germany-Poland-...), Denmark came before Netherlands. Unless you're including Greenland, that doesn't seem right. And if you did include Greenland, Denmark would have come before Poland, right?
At least according to Wikipedia, Denmark is the 130th largest country in the world, and the Netherlands is 131st, with Denmark having about 400 extra square miles.
Took a little while to get the hang of, but really really fun. Most map quizzes are too easy, but this one is a good bit of difficult. Whenever I thought there was a mistake, I had forgotten or mistaken something. Keep at it!
What an awesome idea! Took me a minute to get the hang of it and sometimes i had to read back through the list to see what the last big country was, but it was an awesome idea.
Hard quiz but its really just a memory game. If you have insane memory and of course general knowledge of countries this could be cake for you. But like remember where you was like 20 answers ago LOL. That's what I mean.
That's what makes the list invaluable. You can go back and check off which countries are done until you find the last one you did that still has some bordering countries available.
It was a little tricky not being able to see which microstates I'd gotten even with zooming in, but this is a unique concept and definitely challenged me. You gave plenty of time so I appreciate that given it takes a while to get a hang of the concept.
Took me a while to get into the flow of it and figure out how to complete it, but I got there in the end. Slightly more comprehensive instructions might help, though, cos I can see how people would get confused.
I’m not sure if this has already been answered (not reading over 90 comments to find out) but somewhere there should be a Spain - Gibraltar - Uk - Ireland ‘chain’. Gibraltar is classed as a UK overseas territory just as French Guiana is to France and Ceuta and Melilla are to Spain. Please be consistent (either leave out ALL contested borders or include ALL of them). Thanks.
My favourite quiz on jetpunk. Finished on my first try with 17 seconds left. Got a little bit confused with Singapore and Cape Verde cause they're yellow and not grey.
This quiz was insane and I am so pleased with myself for finishing on my first try. I used every minute too. So many times I forgot about a micro-nation, didn't catch the France -> Brazil move for a while, craziness throughout.
Congratulations scambigol, you have the coolest quiz on this entire website. It's a perfect combination of geography and memory. I remember finishing Africa and thinking "where the hell am I supposed to go now?" Fantastic job on this one.
Favorite jumps are from Uruguay to Germany and Portugal to Senegal. Learned that Turkey and Azerbaijan are connected and that Finland is bigger than Norway thanks to this quiz.
Much easier than expected, if you know all the countries you just got to look at the map. First try, I did it with 8 minutes spare and didnt even try to go fast.
I thnk you should decreasce to 15 minutes tops, so you cant just randonly guess which should be next, I believe lots of people do that.
UAE borders Saudi Arabia and Oman, both of which have already been used at that point. So you've hit a dead end, meaning you go back to the previous country.
The previous country was Oman, bordering Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the UAE. All of them have been used already, so we go back once more.
The previous one was Yemen, bordering Saudi Arabia and Oman. Again all were used, so we go back again.
Then we are in Saudi Arabia, bordering Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Oman, and Yemen. The ones not guessed are Jordan, Kuwait, and Qatar: the biggest out of these is Jordan, the next answer.
What a ride! Kazakhstan and Mongolia are Russia's 2nd and 3rd biggest neighbours, yet you only return there at the end - which makes sense but was still surprising to me.
This quiz was insane. I must have typed and re-typed several countries a doze times, until I found the right link to the path that the program wants. I could not follow some of the decisions. Anyway it was a good mental exercise.
Gibraltar is a British overseas territory, while Ceuta and Melilla (and many other small bits) are considered to be part of Spain, same as French Guiana is part of France
Nominated :)
Unless you consider a few islands a land bridge, in which case Russia borders the USA.
Kinda toughened through including extra territories, but hey that's what makes it fun hehe
Thanks!
But a very, very good quiz btw
I tried the biggest country in the world, and tried its biggest neighbour, and neither of those were accepted.
What are we supposed to do?
I hope this gets to the top of the nominations soon! Deserves to be featured!
What's changed?
It was sometimes hard to remember where I'd been, but in the end I always ended up figuring it out. I had 11 minutes left when I finished.
Note to creator: Kosovo didn't highlight once the answer was accepted and this was a little confusing.

But the further I managed, the better I realised it is. Excellent work!
