Nice quiz. The more I think about it (and this applies to all landlocked-country quizzes) the more silly it seems to class Azerbaijan as "landlocked" when it fronts a body of water that's (a) salty, (b) called a sea, and (c) is 200 miles from the far shore! (Anything over about 20 miles you cannot see the far shore from). Land. Locked? Really?
But you can say its not connected to oceans. Maybe "oceanshoreless" is what is actuallt meant. I guess otherwise its hard to draw a line, what about Uganda and Bolivia for example?
If you have a boat in a country that is not landlocked, you can sail said boat to any other non-landlocked country. Azerbaijan can't do that, and so is restricted from international maritime trade. Thus, it's landlocked.
The Caspian "Sea" is in reality a lake, if that was the case with every country, no landlocked countries would exist with the exception of the tiny ones like Liechtenstein, The Vatican, San marino, Andorra and Luxembourg.
With the difference being that most countries' territory goes over the lake that it is next to. The territory of the countries around the Caspian stops right at the edge of the lake
Please add an option to show dots for "micronations." I was able to guess the smaller countries, but it was far from obvious given their near invisibility on this map. Great quiz!
Good quiz, I like the pictures made by these groups of countries, the South American landlocked looks like a baby's leg and nappy, North Africa looks like a falling woman, Europe reminds me of a woman cooking etc.
