So strange to see the capital of Liechtenstein as the only answer that is guessed 100%. I guess that just means everyone at least knows one central European capital city.
I didn't answer that one but it filled in with another answer. I needed WAY more time, but I never do well on the capital quizzes. (I'm learning them slowly, though, thanks to this site.)
Great quiz, very challenging. After about 8 attempts I've managed to get up to 182, but a perfect score is proving tough. Europe and West Africa are bountiful, but many other areas of the world are less generous. South America is basically a one at a time slog and the Pacific is time consuming.
The US i.e. all Presidents and Congress (Democrats and Republicans) has always recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital. The debate has been whether to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. You'll notice this quiz has been in existence long before Trump was President).
It always looks written backwards to me, but then when I read it from back to front (which I just cant help when I see it) it still isnt a word that makes sense haha. Looks rather german or danish. Dungermund or Dumlerung,
Awesome quiz! One question, though, how are these distances calculated? Lat and Lon, nautical miles, flight distance?
The issue is that there are several anomalies. E.g., several reputable sources show Tokyo within 1,000 miles of both Seoul and Pyongyang, yet neither of these capitals turns the Tokyo dot green. I've found at least 10 other of these anomalies.
Warsaw, Praia, Malabo, Lilongwe, Georgetown, Bandar Seri Begawan, Windhoek, Moroni, Port Louis, Victoria, Mogadishu, Doha, Male, Singapore, Ulaanbatar, Taipei, Manila, Ngerelmud, Palikir, Dili, Honiara, Port Vila, Apia, Funafuti, Port Moresby
then that's all. Still a challenge to type them all that fast.
Which is hard because I'm particularly bad at West African capitals.

Thanks in advance for clarifying the logic used.
Thank you for re-iterating them.

Mind you, I'm sure there is a much easier way to go about this, with maybe a shorter list. This was just my lucky crack at it.

So far, I got about 142 capitals. I will work to get all 196!
