Somebody got them all?! I enjoyed this one in particular because, even though you had to start with "C", there was more than one possible path to get em all. :)
Great! Not too sure about 'half of K', after seeing the answer I assumed you mean the 'right' half and not half of 2 like I thought. What about calling it 'headless K' or something like that?
Yes, the capital letter in these clues always refers to the complete answer associated with that letter (unless otherwise specified). So 'half of K' means half of 'K2', not half of 2.
Right?? I got them all pretty quick except L. Was thinking about it when I got a phone call that I had to take, so I paused the quiz, and then ended up leaving it on pause for almost 6 hours while I tried to figure out what L could possibly be.
Eventually I unpaused it, let time run out, then facepalmed hard.
I think I:
• Was expecting it to be 2 words, not 1; and
• Read the hint as suggesting L came before G, not after.
I think? Either way, making those assumptions is entirely my fault and I am now also kicking myself hard.
The first quiz was good. The second was less good. This one just fails. Ape = copy? Maybe to people from the 1800s? I couldn't say. I've spent too much time in the 21st Century.
Since you can't get A, you can't get P, so you can't get J, so you can't get U or Z.
"(Half of K) x 24". The answer to K was "K2". The only number in K2 is 2, so "Half of K" = 1. How does 1 x 24 = 48?
I mean, there's clever and then there's just needlessly hard. Needlessly hard isn't fun.
"Aping" something meaning "copying" that thing is perhaps not the most common expression out there, but is hardly archaic or obscure, I'm afraid.
As a Canadian (which I see you also are), I'd suggest that it's an expression I hear in the wild or naturally use myself somewhere in the neighbourhood of once a year.
Really like this series, and this one's my favorite so far. Maybe I was undercaffeinated when I took it, but it seems more self-referential and involved than the others, so more challenging.
Love this series! Love all the different routes and zipping around. I do think "X" should specify it's a brand, as the correct answer would be a Photocopier.
